Here is a picture of the LEGO cake I made for Spartacus' party tomorrow night. I got the idea from this website. Basically, you take a 9X13 inch cake and divide it into thirds. One of the thirds gets cut in half. You use canned frosting to crumb coat the cakes and then refrigerate them for about 30 minutes. Then you slather on the frosting to make them as square as possible. You use large marshmallows cut in half to make the pips on the LEGOs. If you are VERY handy with the piping tube, you can pipe the word "LEGO" on each of the marshmallows. I am not handy with the piping tube. The recipe says the cake serves 12, but I think that would be very generous for little boys. I'm thinking one slice with a marshmallow on it and a dollop of ice cream is just fine.
We'll have the left overs for breakfast.
